Stem Cell Sciences, Inc. (SCS) is a privately owned, NYSDOH licensed comprehensive stem cell bank, registered with the FDA and approved for the procurement, processing, storage and distribution of human hematopoietic (blood forming) stem cells of bone marrow and peripheral blood origin.

Niculae Ciobanu, MD FACP-CEO SCS, Inc.
A 1983 graduate of the Hematologic Oncology Fellowship Program of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, and a former Special Fellow of the Leukemia Society of America, Dr. Ciobanu was the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program of the Albert Einstein Cancer Center/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY from 1985 until 1993. He served as Co-Chairman of the BMT Committee of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and was instrumental in the launching of the BMT Program at the British Hospital in Montevideo, Uruguay. Between 1994 and 1997 he led the BMT Program of St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, New York, NY and functioned as the Acting Director, BMT Service at Schneider Children’s Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center from 1997 to 1998. He remained a member of the Stem Cell Transplant Team, St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, New York, NY from 1998 until 2010.
Dr. Ciobanu authored and/or co-authored 42 peer-reviewed articles, 7 book chapters and 40 abstracts.
Presently, he remains CEO of SCS, Inc. and is in private practice as a Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist with subspecialization in Stem Cell Transplantation in midtown Manhattan with multiple hospital affiliations.
